We have secured blocks of rooms at discounted rates in two Detroit hotels for our guests.
No more room at the Inn! It seems we have filled up all our rooms at the Inn on Ferry Street for Saturday night. There are still plenty of heavily discounted rooms available at the Westin (see below), but please book soon–we have no control over the rate after June 4.
The main hotel for our guests is The Inn on Ferry Street. Located in Midtown Detroit, The Inn is a collection of adjacent historic mansions and carriage houses that have been converted to a hotel. The rooms are all fully modernized and renovated, with air conditioning, private bathrooms, and secure key-card access, but the houses that make up the inn retain the original charm and character of grand Victorian buildings. Each room is slightly different in its layout, furnishings and decor.
The hotel offers the following free amenities: parking in a secure outdoor lot, WiFi, daily breakfast, business center (for printing boarding passes) and shuttle van service within 5 miles of the hotel. We will provide transportation from the Inn on Ferry Street to the wedding on Saturday, so by taking advantage of the shuttle, guests can stay here and get around Detroit without renting a car if they prefer not to. With advance notice, the hotel can also arrange for a discounted car service from and to Detroit Metro Airport. Call them for info.
We have 3 of the houses reserved for our guests with a variety of room options at discounted rates (all rates below exclude tax). Please note that other than one Queen suite, which has a convertible sofa in the second room, none of the rooms at the Inn on Ferry Street have two beds. If you need two beds, see the Westin below.
We are recommending that our “younger” guests who may stay up later book rooms in the John R. Carriage House. There are seven Queen rooms in the house and the rates are $125 or $135 per night.
We also have the nine rooms in the Owen House reserved, with a few different room options. There are several Queen rooms for $125 or $135 per night; one two-room Queen suite (with a pull-out sofa in the second room) for $195 per night; and one large King “executive” room with a whirlpool bath for $175 per night.
Finally, we have three rooms reserved in the Scott House, which is also home to the reception and breakfast areas. These are two Queen rooms for $135 per night and one King executive room for $175 per night.
To book any of these rooms, please CALL the Inn on Ferry Street at 313.871.6000 and mention “Jessica and Michael Wedding Room Block.” You’ll need a credit card to secure the reservation. You cannot book these rooms online. We can only hold the rooms until May 27, so please book your stay before then. Please let us know if you have any problems!
We have also reserved a block of rooms at the Westin Book Cadillac in downtown Detroit, a historic building in its own right, especially for our guests who need rooms with two beds. The hotel has a pool and fitness center, along with all the other amenities you’d expect from a Westin. We have reserved deluxe rooms with two double beds and deluxe King rooms, each for $139 per night (plus tax). There are also a variety of options for club, premium and suite rooms with discounted rates as well; ask the reservation center if you’d prefer one of these rooms. The hotel is also offering our guests overnight valet parking with in/out privileges for just $10 per day, which is an exceptionally good deal for downtown Detroit. We will provide transportation between the Westin and our house for the wedding on Saturday.
To book rooms at the Westin Book Cadillac, please CALL 888-627-7150 or 800-WESTIN1 and identify yourself as part of the “Payette and Gurevich Wedding Room Block.” You’ll need a credit card to secure the reservation. You cannot get the discounted rate online. We can only hold the rooms until June 4, so please book your stay before then.
If for some reason these hotels aren’t what you’re looking for, please ASK US for advice on where else to look before booking anything else. Our local knowledge will be helpful as there are some areas you will want to avoid.
